Authorities say no link between today's capture and the Bondi terror attack - Really?

Brown University is facing growing scrutiny following reports that it received a letter from 34 human rights organizations urging the school to disable or limit its campus CCTV surveillance system, allegedly to protect anonymity and civil liberties.

At the same time, questions are being raised about why no meaningful on-campus surveillance footage has been publicly released, while investigators rely almost exclusively on private Ring and Nest doorbell cameras from surrounding neighborhoods.

Adding to the controversy, Brown has acknowledged taking steps to address online speculation and doxxing involving a student assistant, including the removal or restriction of publicly available online information. The university says these actions were taken to protect individuals from harm and misinformation — while critics argue the timing raises legitimate transparency concerns.
