The best thing about the crew at Legally Armed America is that we are “regular” guys. There are no tactical, fire breathing, devil dog badasses on this staff. Just a bunch of guys who grew up around guns, love the fact that our Constitution affords us the God-given rights to purchase and own them, and appreciate the loads of responsible range time we get to spend with them.

Meet the Legally Armed America crew:

A product of SW Louisiana, Paul grew up with guns being a normal and frequent part of life. When tree branches needed trimming in pine trees around the house as a kid, no one got a ladder and a saw. A Remington 12 gauge with 4 shot loads was the quickest and easiest way to “prune” the unwanted limbs.

Paul is a Class “C” USPSA shooter who shoots like a Class “D” shooter, but loves the competition all the same. He prefers the smell of gunpowder over coffee and enjoys long walks at the range.  Paul is an NRA Certified Instructor as well as an ordained minister.  (Yep, true story!)

Barbara Walters Question: “If you could only grab two weapons to defend your family with, what would they be and why?”

Paul’s answer: “My first choice would be a 1911 due to my familiarity with them. As much as I’d like to say my second choice would be an AR-15 because that sounds pretty badass, I’d have to say a 12 gauge pump shotgun. I like the universal language a 12 gauge pump speaks when charging it and if that fails to translate, I’ve seen the damage that that gun can do to many things. (See tree comment above!) But we’re talking defending family here. I could beat the brakes off someone with a bag of gummy bears if they’re threatening my family, so I won’t be picky concerning a specific gun!”

Chad was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana. As a self taught web designer/developer. He has been developing web projects for over 19 years through his company, Killerwebsites.com.

In the recent years, Chad has adopted the hobby of shooting sports for recreation, fun and stress relief. He is a frequent USPSA competition shooter. Legally Armed America is Chad’s way of applying his knowledge of marketing, technology, and the internet to manage Legally Armed America’s extensive internet presence.  As a child of the 80’s Chad still loves 80’s rock and on occasion even gets to play guitar in his 80’s cover band.

Barbara Walters Question: “If you could only grab two weapons to defend your family with, what would they be and why?”

Chad’s answer: “Option 1 would be a handgun. Not any one handgun in particular; just whatever is available at the moment. I would say the classic baseball bat is Option 2, I have one under the bed and handy.”

Laura Evans
Laura is our marketing whiz behind the scenes.  She handles all of our ad placement, ad sales, press releases, and pretty much makes us look bigger and better than what we are.  With many years in the firearms industry, Laura’s reach is immense and and as valuable as any member of the Legally Armed America team.

Located in Rochester, NY, Laura is handicapped by the ridiculous gun laws in her state, but is still able to get her rounds downrange every chance she gets!

Barbara Walters Question: “If you could only grab two weapons to defend your family with, what would they be and why?”

Laura’s answer: “A Glock 43 and an AR-15 – NY compliant of course!”

Screen Shot 2014-10-27 at 5.54.30 PMTodd Ory
Todd is currently a Sergeant for a local Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana. With 25 years of law enforcement experience including 8 years on the area’s SWAT team, Todd is well-versed in various combat and defensive weapons and techniques. He is currently the Staff Instructor at the area’s Regional Training Academy.

Barbara Walters Question: “If you could only grab two weapons to defend your family with, what would they be and why?”

Todd’s answer: “A Glock in .45 or 9mm and a high quality AR-15 because of the extensive training time I’ve had with both.”

utas coleCole Verret
Cole is our youngest Legally Armed America correspondent and frequently works with us on gun reviews as well as performing invaluable camera work for the show. He’s sixteen years old and plays high school football. Cole is an avid hunter and USPSA shooter and is also an NRA apprentice instructor. Cole hopes to obtain a Mechanical Engineering degree and eventually design firearms.

Barbara Walters Question: “If you could only grab two weapons to defend your family with, what would they be and why?”

Cole’s answer: “A Remington 870 and a Glock 22. They are both reliable, familiar, and have no shortage of stopping power.”
