The joy of giving is many times a greater feeling than that of receiving. And when we at Legally Armed America teamed up with one of the more honorable and respected companies in the firearms industry – Windham Weaponry – to donate one of their top-selling rifles – the MPC AR-15 – we got to experience that joy firsthand knowing that we would be helping children with developmental disorders
The St. Nicholas Center for Children is the leading therapy center for autistic and other children with special needs in the Southern Louisiana area. Once a year the center holds its annual fundraiser called the “Brewer’s Plate” which includes a live auction. The proceeds from the event go mostly towards facility-related funds to manage and run the center on a full time basis. The center helps numerous children as well as their families in the area cope with and manage various disorders affecting children. They specialize in ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis), OT (Occupational Therapy), and ST (Speech Therapy). With 1 in every 58 children born today being diagnosed with some form of autism the center is one of only a few facilities addressing an ever-increasing problem in this country.
We at Legally Armed America feel fortunate to be a part of this donation, but realize that we are simply the middle man as Todd Coons and the fine folks at Windham Weaponry made this happen out of the kindness and generosity of their company. I ask all of our friends to please remember the good people at Windham Weaponry when purchasing a quality rifle. It’s one thing to get one of their industry-leading rifles for your own, but it’s quite another to get it from a company that gives back and cares for the children in our communities.
On behalf of all the children at the St. Nicholas Center, thank you Windham Weaponry.
